Turnip, Purple Top White Globe
1.5 3 $1.50 - $3.00
A very old heirloom originally listed for sale in the retail catalog of James Gregory in 1885. Uniform, smooth white roots have a rose blush at the top. Most flavorful when harvested at 3-4" diameter but also suitable for harvesting much larger, depending on gardener preference. Excellent quality white fleshed globes are mildly flavored, smooth, and very fine-grained. Roots store very well and can be grown as both a spring and a fall crop for a continual supply of fresh turnips. Tops grow 12-18" tall and have an excellent flavor when cooked as greens. 50-60 days.
