Pepper, Corno di Toro Rosso
This variety is the largest of the sweet stuffing peppers. Large, sturdy plants produce plentiful amounts of 8-12 inch long, tapered fruits that resemble a bull horn, hence the name. This variety is similar to the yellow variety although these peppers turn deep crimson red when ripe. They have the same sweet and spicy flavor, and are not hot at all. Fruits are about 1 1/2 inches wide at the shoulder and have thick meaty flesh. They are wonderful roasted or eaten fresh. They taste much better than bell peppers and do not have a bitter flavor when cooked! These are a traditional favorite in Italy. 87 days.
